Obtaining Your Domain Name

by Scott on June 12, 2010

So you want your own website, but you’re not sure where to start?

I always like to start at the beginning, which in this case is to obtain your domain name. This is the address that people will use to visit your website. Every site has one and you need to have one too. Watch this video to learn how to make this important first step to staking your claim on the digital continent.

P.S. In the video I state that URL stands for universal record locator. I was wrong. It actually stands for Uniform Resource Locator. You can learn more here. I also learned that there is a St. Joseph parish in Knoxville. In the future I’ll get my facts straight prior to recording!
