Placebook: Privacy for Location Services

by Scott on June 14, 2010

Placebook could be a great new service, but you won’t see an actual demo of it in this video. What you will see in this 30 minute interview of founder Michael Rubin is a fascinating update on current and upcoming location-based services. The interview is conducted by blogger, technical evangelist and author, Robert Scoble.

Rubin is a very smart guy with an impressive background. During the interview he addresses a variety of issues associated with today’s and tomorrow’s location-based applications. Most significant to Rubin is privacy in a location-enabled world. He explains the need for a product like Placebook in a future where everything you do is tracked by location services via GPS. Check it out.
